Lead The Way.

“Great leaders inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more.”
– John Quincy Adams

As one of United Way’s leadership donors, you are inspiring change for thousands of people in our community.  Being a leadership donor has nothing to do with your job or how much money you make.  At United Way, a leader cares, wants to make a difference and understands what a tremendous difference a donation at this level can make.

In 2015, 525 leadership donors in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin jointly contributed over $779,000 to the Campaign.

Double The Impact Of Your Gift

The Estill Family Leadership Challenge Grant will match up to $60,000 in new Leadership donations ($1,000 or more) and donation increases, which means your Leadership donation will now do twice the good!

How it works

New leaders: As a first-time Leadership donor, your gift of $1,000 or more to United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin will be matched, dollar for dollar.*

Increased gift: Increase your gift by 10% over last year’s donation and your increased donation will be doubled.  For example, if you gave $1,000 in 2015 and increase your gift to $1,100 in 2016, United Way will receive an additional $200 through the Challenge Grant.

*up to a maximum of $60,000

Tax Benefits

Your leadership gift may afford you a significant tax benefit.

Tax Table

If you are a first-time donor, you may be eligible for an additional 25% tax credit on the first $1,000 you give.  Ask your financial advisor for tax implications specific to your situation.

Making a leadership donation is easy:

  • If your company runs a workplace campaign, participate in the payroll deduction plan at the $20 per week level
  • Authorize monthly donations from your credit card or chequing account at the $85 per month level.

  • Give a one-time donation by cash, cheque or credit card.  You can donate by mail, phone or online.
