We are hiring a Communications & Community Engagement Manager

United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin (UWGWD) is the largest investor in social services in our community, second only to government. We know that the social issues facing our community are challenging. We also know that the ways that people want to connect to make a difference in their community are changing. That is why we are adapting our approach and amplifying our shared impact. We will champion shared responsibility for social good, working year-round to build relationships and participation, strengthen partnerships and enable shared solutions to social issues.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Community Engagement & Impact, the Communications & Community Engagement Manager works to champion the United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin (UWGWD)’s role in a shared responsibility for social good by engaging the community & supporters in continuous and impactful communications, building reciprocal relationships, and mobilizing our community to make a collective impact on our community’s most pressing issues.

You are passionate about our community and connecting people to the issues that matter most to them in order to make a difference.

You are a true self-starter with a can-do attitude and are ready to move quickly to deepen engagement with our current donors.

You love creative work and making things look nice!  You are passionate about branding and working with digital platforms.

You are a story-teller and find joy in sharing stories of community impact & community issues.

You have a personal and professional commitment to anti-oppression, anti-racism and accessibility and identify with United Way’s values.

You think creatively and strategically but are also willing and able to roll up your sleeves to get work done.
