Home for Good

United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin’s Home for Good campaign is a bold call-to-action to solve homelessness in our community.

What is Home for Good?

Through the generosity of our community, we will raise $5 million to build homes for people experiencing homelessness in Guelph and Wellington.

The initial focus of The Home for Good Campaign was capital investment to build 72 supportive housing units in Guelph in 2023. By the end of 2023, over $2.6M was raised locally and the building costs for 10 Shelldale by Kindle Communities, Grace Gardens by Stepping Stone and Bellevue by Wyndham House have been covered. We are proud to report that thanks to our generous community, 32 individuals are currently housed at Grace Gardens, 32 at 10 Shelldale and 8 youth at Bellevue.

But, our work is not done.

Additional funds are currently being raised for these three projects to cover other essential costs. Furthermore, we know these projects will need ongoing capital support for maintenance and updates. That is why we are also raising funds to ensure these organizations have the resources they need to keep the properties well maintained, welcoming and dignified places to live.

We are also committed to housing more individuals who are chronically homeless. Additional funds raised will create The Home for Good Responsive Fund. These dollars will be ready for the community to access when new permanent housing solutions arise. We are proud to share that conversations have already started on potential next projects.

As long as there is a need, our community is committed to providing Homes for Good.
