This month, the Guelph Community Foundation, in partnership with United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin, the Guelph & Wellington Poverty Elimination Collaborative, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, Toward Common Ground, and the County of Wellington, released a new Vital Focus Report on Housing & Homelessness.
With much attention on the issue of housing in our community, and many changes to how our community is responding, the report combines local data, evidence-based research and community insights to provide a snapshot of housing and homelessness in Guelph-Wellington and help residents better understand the realities of homelessness and the actions needed to address it.
As of July 2026, 308 people were experiencing chronic homelessness in Guelph-Wellington. At the same time, the report highlights local successes, including a 71 per cent reduction in chronic youth homelessness since 2018 and the development of new supportive and transitional housing projects across the region.
We invite you to read the full report to learn more about the realities of homelessness in our community, the actions being taken to address it, and the evidence-based solutions helping create lasting change!
