1) Campaign Manager

Position Type: Full Time                            Location: Guelph

Working under the direction of the Campaign Director, and assisting the Campaign Cabinet, the Campaign Manager assists in the execution and evaluation of the annual $3.5 million fundraising campaign for United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin.  The Campaign Manager will work with key accounts and volunteers to generate the greatest financial support and volunteer participation to enable the organization to fulfill its mission to “meet and exceed current and emerging social needs in order to improve lives and build community.”

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement key strategies for donor engagement, recognition and stewardship for both individual and corporate donors
  • Deliver presentations and showcase UW throughout the community, to various groups in a variety of settings
  • Along with the Campaign Director, assist in the selection and recruitment of fundraising volunteers and ensure they receive appropriate orientation and training
  • In conjunction with the Campaign Director and volunteers, develop annual division plans and timetable for implementation and ensure adherence to plan
  • Develop financial and non-financial goals within assigned divisions (approximately 50 or more workplace accounts) in keeping with the overall campaign objectives and work closely with campaign volunteers to meet these goals
  • Accompany volunteers on selected Corporate/CEO calls and solicit corporate and employee donations
  • Analyze data and develop strategies based on the evaluation of previous campaign results
  • Manage workplace campaigns and successfully develop, organize and implement campaign strategies by working with Employee Campaign Coordinators within assigned accounts
  • Maintain accurate documentation for assigned workplace accounts
  • Conduct ongoing internal and external prospecting research to identify new opportunities to cultivate and expand partnerships and fundraising within the community
  • Participate as a member of the staff team and support events such as the Starlight Film Festival and training where applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in sales, non-profit, fundraising preferred
  • Previous fundraising experience considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the University of Guelph/Education sector considered an asset
  • Well developed organizational and leadership skills for the management and motivation of volunteers
  • Exceptional written and communication skills and experience delivering presentations/training sessions
  • Face to face solicitation experience
  • The ability to take initiative and work with minimal amount of supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the United Way team
  • Confident in prioritizing and managing multiple projects at once
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook and Database programs (Andar)
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends during Campaign
  • A drivers license and access to a vehicle is required

Compensation

  • Compensation Type: Salary & Benefits (paid vacation, comprehensive benefits package)
  • Amount: $48,000-$56,000

2) Engagement Officer

Position Type: Contract                             Location: Guelph

Application Deadline: August 24, 2018

Contract Date – September 17, 2018 – December 21, 2018

Working under the direction of the Campaign Director, and assisting the Campaign team, the Engagement Officer assists with the execution and evaluation of the annual $3.5 million fundraising campaign for United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin.  The Engagement Officer will work with key accounts and volunteers to generate the greatest financial support and volunteer participation to enable the organization to fulfill its mission to “meet and exceed current and emerging social needs in order to improve lives and build community.”

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of key strategies for donor engagement, recognition and stewardship for both individual and corporate donors
  • Deliver presentations and showcase UW throughout the community, to various groups in a variety of settings
  • Analyze past giving history of each assigned account and work with United Way staff to establish and record current status
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with workplace volunteers
  • Work with United Way’s funded agencies to arrange for speakers and agency tours
  • Maintain accurate documentation for assigned workplace accounts
  • Collect and deliver supporting campaign materials to assigned workplace accounts
  • Deliver training sessions as required to employee campaign teams
  • Submit and manage reports and contributions to United Way office in a timely manner
  • Participate as a member of the staff team and support special events such as the Starlight Film Festival and training where applicable
  • Organize the United Way’s annual Day of Caring event, matching teams of employee volunteers with funded agencies
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Positive attitude, flexible and creative
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once
  • A driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required

Compensation

  • Compensation Type: Salary – $13,500
  • Millage + Expenses
