“I have been very fortunate to have gotten through struggles in my life and in my family with support. My desire to donate to United Way began in my first full time job working in a children’s agency in Toronto. My role required me to make a presentation based on the first months of my job to the United Way funding panel. I was impressed with the depth of the questions they asked and how appreciated and supported these volunteers made me feel. I went back to my job feeling that I was making a very important contribution to the lives of the children and their families. Since then, I have tried to contribute as much as I could manage to the United Way GWD because of their local base and trustworthy use of the donations.”
