United Way Announces New Executive Director

Guelph, Ontario.  July 13, 2020.  The United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Glenna Banda will join the organization as its newest Executive Director.

“We are delighted that Glenna is bringing her leadership, energy and passion to United Way”, said Khalid Khokhar, president of the United Way Board of Directors. “She brings an impressive track record of community leadership and achievement in the non-profit sector, and is well positioned to lead the organization through the execution of our Strategic Plan and as our community recovers from the impacts of COVID-19.”

A native of Saskatchewan and a long-time resident of Guelph, Glenna comes to United Way from AgScape in Milton and previously as the Executive Director at The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.  Under Glenna’s leadership, both organizations experienced tremendous growth and transformative community partnerships.

“I’ve always been passionate about connecting those who want to change the world with those who can, and I’m thrilled to be joining United Way to have the opportunity to make those connections in the community that I love,” said Glenna Banda.  “I’m looking forward to building on the outstanding history of United Way and furthering the work to champion shared responsibility for social good through impactful giving opportunities and greater community collaboration.”

Glenna will start in her new role with United Way in August.
